Updates, Oct 2013

Life in Oz is great! The people, the weather, the super relaxed lifestyle, everything is great, though the food could be better, haha. School is good too, we just started learning immunology this week...and unfortunately, this will be the only week we cover it. And no T cell development! I'm not sure if I'm going to come back to the US to visit over Christmas break, but if I do, I will definitely come visit the lab!  I miss you all, and I hope everyone is doing well!

Updates, Oct 2012:
"Residency at MGH is going well - I am still getting  adjusted to a new hospital and trying to find everything. However, I enjoy seeing patients and most of their families. We recently  had a patient who potentially had Stat5 deficiency, which made me miss working  in the lab very much."
Updates, Oct 2011:
"I am currently in Baltimore, finishing up my final year of medical school and applying for residency programs in Child Neurology. In my free time I am learning to play tennis and helping my sister with her upcoming wedding in June. Other than that, I miss everyone in the lab and branch seminars."

Updates, Oct 2017
I am already in my third year of medical school...
I have almost finished my core clinical rotations, and am nearly sure I want to do my residency in Internal Medicine, and possibly pursue a fellowship in Heme/Onc later on. Next year, I will be doing my 6 month research block in immunotherapy for melanoma in Dr. Jedd Wolchok and Dr. Taha Merghoub's lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Updates, Oct 2016
I am almost done with my pre-clinical coursework and will be starting in the hospital after New Year's. I can't wait to begin and my first clerkship will be internal medicine. I'm still open to many fields and interested to see what everything is like, but I'm leaning towards medical oncology. I am planning on doing clinical or bench immunotherapy research for a mandatory 6 month project in my third year, so I might get back into the world of immunology, FACS, and mice.

Updates, Oct 2015
I am very much enjoying living in New York and med school has been fantastic so far! We just finished Week 7 of classes and are learning / reviewing the basic sciences and anatomy for the first 4 months. I am so happy to be here, and it is hard to imagine being here without all your help and my experiences at the EIB.

Updates, Oct 2013:
As part of my study abroad exchange program at Oxford, I am taking a biochemistry class and undertaking an undergraduate thesis project which requires me to be in lab Mon-Fri 9-5 studying recombination restart at stalled replication forks in fission yeast. However, my weekends are free so I have done some traveling (Paris, London, Bath). My semester will be over in mid-December and I look forward to visiting the lab to see everyone when I get back!

I'm also getting more involved in the Molecular Biology / Neuroscience campus lab that I worked in last year. I'm in lab for a bunch of hours each week and so far I've been helping out with a lot of Mini-Preps and a cloning project. I can't wait to visit the lab during my Winter Break in December!"
